When a person is depressed, sleep and dreaming are often disrupted, and unpleasant dreams can just seem to make everything worse. Nevertheless, dreams can also point the way through depression, and provide new perspectives even in the midst of suffering. This workshop is designed to offer practical support and encouragement for those who suffer from depression, as well as their family members, friends, and those who work with them. We will consider how depression affects dreams, and how dreams can affect depression. Participants will learn useful approaches to the unpleasant dreams often associated with depressed states, and dreamwork skills that may be helpful in relieving symptoms.
